I Rest and Allow Rejuvination
This was originally written for Labor Day. However it reminds us of the importance to clear our minds, rest our bodies, and schedule, plan in times of rest, vacation, and relaxation.
Truth Message: Matthew 11:28–30, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Resting from Our Labors is life giving and healthy. Surprisingly, the good reasoning or inner prompting can be too easily ignored and goes unheeded. Some have done so or are accustomed to resting from their labors. When they do, they are refreshed and rewarded when starting a new project or begin work once again.
We can choose to decide to take a day of rest and relaxation any time we conveniently desire. Labor day reminds us to give thanks for the energy, aliveness, and opportunities given us in our work.
It is amazing to watch drivers on the road endlessly seeking to get ahead of the cars in front of them, even to the point of driving recklessly. Have you noticed them sitting next to you at the next traffic light. These anxious and speedy cars make little headway and take great risks for a small gain.
So it is with work. We go and go past the time for a necessary break–running the risk of getting exhausted, depleted or making unwanted mistakes. Days such as Labor day or this very day invite us to rest from doing and relax, loosen up and have fun. Most of us are worker bees and go and go some more. Any day of our choosing we can decide to take restful moments. We can ease up and enjoy the fruits and harvest of our efforts. Even though it might take some pre-planning, it is worth it to take time to be in nature or take a vacation break.
Then we will feel rejuvenated. And the activities will begin with new tasks, projects, and opportunities. So Rest! Do those things that feed your soul. Delight in reading your favorite books and writings. See new scenery; let your spirit breathe, your body relax, and let your mind be free of worry, or appointments and schedules.
Prayerfully and with certainty I commit to take the invitation to balance and loosen up on myself. Dear Spirit within guide and fortify me with the courage to rest and the inner permission to do so. I let things be, let things solve themselves. The family, the job, the world around me will be perfectly fine and in agreement with me taking a time for rest.
I take in the words and directive in Matthew 11:28–30. I renew, become lighthearted, and cease with taking life too seriously. I release any idea that it is all up to me. Yes, I am important. At this point however it is in Divine order to ease up and soften the pace. I am rewarded greatly in doing so. Thank you inner Divine Spirit for opening the time, for the strength, faith, and follow-through to take a period of rest and relaxation to clear my mind and slow my pace. And so I let it be, thank you Omnipresence of love and serenity, Amen.
