We give ourselves permission and welcome ‘beautiful’ and ‘the personal’ into our lives and expression, now and without hesitation.

Today’s communication seems to be likened to the wild, wild west type of communication. Tame sometimes, yet chaotic with the addition of any form is Okay as long as we express.

The challenge in our modern to post-modern age is the varied types and avenues of communication today. A long way from the time writing was an art. Humbly I admit it continues to be an art form.

The challenge is in keeping our standards of writing as descent, honorable, respectably written and clear. Also with the goal in mind to maintain writing as an art form. Writing and communication are in jeopardy of being reduced to an ‘anything goes channel of expression.’

‘The personal’ has sometimes become offensive and less than an art form. We tend to want the convenient, easy and quick forms and avenues of written messages to one another. The sacred and confidential communication is now potentially viewed (and known about) by millions with our expanded networks of fast communication channels.

In these methods the written word has lost its personal attraction. Some modes of communication have gotten sloppy and impersonal.

For instance, texting, emails, Twitter and ol’ fashioned letter writing can be and are being chosen as ways of breaking off engagements, announcing divorce decisions, marriage proposals, firing people and being offensive–all done electronically and not in person.

We have heard people intimating one of the most difficult assignments is telling an employee they are no longer needed and their employment is terminated today. However, it is most likely better than hearing they have lost their job on the TV or by text messaging.
