“Peaceful Memories.
The least we can give to Memorial Day weekend or to any day are our thoughts of calm, serenity and quietude. It is strengthening to remember all who have been instrumental and advocates for peace in the homeland and everywhere.
To feel the love, the joy, sacrifice, talent and wisdom of our relatives, ancestors and those who have served in the United States Armed Services is gratifying and respectful.
I know my parents sacrificed and diligently worked to provide for us three kids. I remain grateful for my mom and dad. Likewise, each person we meet — it is said — is a gift to us. In some way they teach or bless us. Sometimes they cause us to identify something in ourselves we want to eliminate or raise to a higher, better vibration of light and love. We all are teachers to one another.
When we remember this, we realize our behavior and responses matter to self and to those around us and meet along life’s journey through our days. We realize we are each here for similar reasons, to awaken. In the process of waking up to more of the life that sings through us we encourage the highest within to show forth in who we are and what we give, what we act on and express.
A formula I use is love my family and display my appreciation for them everyday. To be peaceful and understanding to others. If I goof or become impatient, do some immediate good for those we may not have been our best with. Or make it up somehow by being a blessing in some form or manner.
Tell ourselves and others the truth. If it could hurt them, color it with love, kindness and thoughtfulness. Give random gifts to life. After I finish this truth message, I will write out a donation for our local food bank. I want to thank the Universe for sparing us yesterday. Someone was backing down the road and just escaped hitting our new vehicle. We were so grateful for the divine grace and protection.
We can feel moments of gratitude this Memorial Day weekend or any day or holiday for our own desire to keep on and seek to live life balanced and fully wakeful. Added to this, we feel appreciation for the contributions others have made for our collective comfort and happiness.
Maybe that is why we have a Memorial Day—to be grateful for what others who are no longer here in body; nevertheless, have left their gifts, inventions and good works as their lasting memorial to us. We are wholly thankful, Amen. Have a happy, safe Memorial Day weekend everyone!
