A Prayer Practice
A Spiritual Prayer Practice:
27″Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.” John 14:27, new revised standard version.
Reflect for several moments or minutes on the above statement by Jesus according to the writer of John. Read it a few times. Then, go into the stillness of silent prayer…………. Thereafter, you may journal about what is on your heart to write. This is your personal reflection writing.
A companion practice is to take a peace phrase or another divine word or meaningful phrase said to be stated by Jesus and let it be an anchor for the day, a center point of spiritual strength and grounding within you. Or you may choose a word or phrase stated in any of the books of the Bible. Suggested: 10“Be still, and know that I am God!” Psalm 46:10 NRSV.
