A Joyful Practice
I choose to live in joy and peace.
I bring to mind five things I am appreciative of and grateful for, fully feeling the joy of appreciation in heart and body.
I search within and discover what will bring me joy today–being with a friend, a walking meditation in nature, reading for sheer pleasure or enrichment. Perhaps it may be watching a sunset or being with family. It may be contacting someone I’ve been wanting to but have put it off.
I do something specific that fills my life with joy.
Then, I take some minutes and visualize wholeness and happiness in every way–Physical, mental, emotional, and fulfilling, purposeful, satisfied living. I visualize my “ideal joy-filled life.” Some of the ideas in this writing are taken from The Joy of Appreciative Living by Jacqueline Kelm
