Everyday we learn, make choices and decisions, promote or discourage things within ourselves, other people, our pets, and in the surrounding world. Though our greatest ally is ourselves. Therefore, it is important to support our entire self richly and generously–to like who we are inside and out.

Most of us have to learn this anew. Some of us were accepted unconditionally as children. Probably most of us were not. So we gain the skill as life progresses–we wake up to loving who we are and the way we are, understanding every day we shine a little brighter and acquire fresh knowledge. We take on more of our wholly and divine spiritual Nature.

You most likely know the story of Peter in the Bible. He gained in wisdom, inner stability, and spiritual stature. How did that happen? He was nurtured and loved without conditions or boundaries by Jesus. Jesus as mentor to Peter did not think or believe Peter was limited. He held Peter in the highest light. And Peter fell from the light many times during his lifetime.

What is worthy of noting about Peter’s story is he kept on regardless of how many occasions he faltered and outright embarrassed himself. He experienced lows, lukewarm, and high points in his lifetime. Jesus did not take the shortcomings of Peter personally. Neither did he berate his dear friend Peter when he slid from grace. He kept on seeing those sparkling eyes of a divine being and looked to the dynamic light within Simon Peter.

We need to believe we have a holy consciousness, a Jesus wisdom and a Buddha spiritual determination inherent in us. We can do what Jesus modeled. We continue to love ourselves with a saintly love, to encourage ourselves as if our life depends on it–for it does. We want to nurture the inner impulse to be our greater self.

Apostle Peter broke through human limited thinking and trooped on in spiritual consciousness as he followed the truest call within him. He became a beautiful person who came to accept all people regardless of their nationality or religious affiliation. He taught Truth and uplifted and healed many. Moreover, Peter furthered the valuable and precious teachings of Jesus. These Teachings live on and have become eternal wisdom.

One of the best things we will do for ourselves is to love and value who and what we are. To respect how far we have already come humanly and divinely. As we journey let us companion with nurturance, self love and care. Care for our cherished friendship and partnership with self and others. To pledge to be our best buddy and keep on in praise and encouragement for our dawning awakened and enlightened state which is closer than breathing and nearer than hands and feet.

I thrive in self love and shower consistently in Divine Love, Amen.
