Love Your Neighbor
I proclaim today and every day as ‘Love Your Neighbor Day.” Regardless of their nationality, color, religion, neat or sloppy or somewhere in-between, or whether your neighbors have a pleasing personality or not, or something else, love them. Before we push this idea off as being Pollyanna, think of the journey of Apostle Paul as written in the scriptures and other writings. Paul, a Pharisee and early hater of Jesus followed him and the disciples around.
In so doing, Paul heard the conversations spoken among the disciples and the words and talks of Jesus. While Paul pursued Jesus he overheard their spiritual discourses on the Kingdom of Heaven, on forgiveness, love one’s enemy, repenting, simple living, and turning the other cheek. These messages rubbed off on Paul, which I believe opened him inside. Then his awakening!
It’s as important to look at what we hate or who we have disturbing feelings toward. We learn much–we open to a greater light beyond our humanness in seeking the answers to our quandaries.
Indeed love yourself from the Divine reservoir of Wholeness within you. Then, from the deeper place, love your neighbors as yourself.
