“I Let my Voice be Heard.”
Early voting begins in Montgomery County, Texas on February 16, 2016. Who I will vote for is not completely decided upon. I am still undecided. In preparing to cast a vote some people say to listen to your heart; others say vote with your head. Also, I have heard friends relate they simply go into the voting booth and make up their mind then and there. Others say they want nothing to do with the political process. Whatever your decision or process, it is OK.
In any circumstance we bring our whole self into it. The same applies to voting. Every act we are involved in deserves our full attention, wisdom and best. Engaging both the head and heart plus the intuitive ability within are powerful abilities to harness when making decisions of any kind, including when we vote. Then if a candidate of choice does or does not win, we connected to the highest within ourselves and gave our energy and attention to the democratic process.
At breakfast this morning, a table around the corner from us was in a heated discussion about which candidates were in accordance with the laws of the Bible. I could feel the energy emanating from the folks seated at their table.
I have a personal stance and belief established within myself about relationships in general. Anything that creates separation, wedges or alienation between individuals–I do not engage in. Oneness, equanimity and non-violent communications are agreeable and practiced instead. Am I perfect–gosh no. Yet, a majority of the time this inner pledge has created and influenced harmony and love in situations where I know people were holding very different preferences and beliefs than I in both religion and politics.
Moreover, fostering friendly interactions, harmony, love and kindness, freedom of choice and acceptance feel closer in alignment with spiritual living and peaceful relationships, leading to serenity and accord with all people.
Then we can rest assured however we believe, whatever our choices are in life, we are extending the right to other people to be who they are and freedom to believe and make their individual choices they desire in peace and calm.
