Our Dreams, Part III
If a vision or a collection of thoughts form as a vision that is unacceptable to you, change the vision to a positive scene, making a new vision of an acceptable and agreeable pictured image. We are ultimately in charge of the ideas, thoughts and images we hold and support in consciousness. If they are not in alignment with our core divine beliefs, our good intentions and purposeful, successful outcomes reject these ideas, thoughts and visions and replace them with ones harmonious with our divine and authentic selfhood.
Also we can ask for greater clarity and insight into our dreams. If a dream is repetitive and/or disturbing we can ask ourselves if there are suppressed feelings the dream may have revealed. For example–I once heard of a divorced person dreaming over and over the scene of their former spouse leaving them. What can we do about this? We can listen to our heart of feelings and invite any suppressed ones to be known and felt by us. Or simply admit we feel a certain way. We want to seek to complete with any processing still needed around the significant emotional happening such as a separation, divorce or other charged experiences.
Some of the different types of dreams we can have:
One–Psychological healing dreams. Two–Belief Dreams such as Jacob in the Bible dreaming of angels of God ascending and descending to and from heaven. If we are climbing stairs upward bound it could be relating our spiritual expanding consciousness. We may ask a question in meditation or before bed and receive a vision revealing our purpose or a dream clearly stating the answer to our question.
Three–there are problem solving dreams delivering to us a message, information and guidance. The dream may contain a messenger conveying a solution and answer. Four–We have physiological dreams seeking to tell us its time to use the rest room, eat certain foods, stop certain foods, or provide direction regarding our health and well-being. Five–dreams of daily life: These are our dreams reporting to us of a need to call someone, do something or a revelation about our daily routine. The dream may help us think of a better way of doing something or give improved service or how to prosper or sell something. These type of dreams may depict actual noise happening outside of our dream and the dream will incorporate the noise in a reflective way.
Six–Compensatory dreams: Or this type of dream can be referred to as a balancing dream for us. They may reveal suppressed emotions needing to be vented and expressed. Or the dream may reveal a suppressed part of our nature. If we believe dancing is evil. We may dream of dancing to our hearts content and enjoying it.
Six continued–Likewise, balancing dreams can show us our shadow energy–parts of ourselves we deny or are repulsed by. We could dream of a very aggressive business man carelessly using people or a successful and wealthy business woman who is stingy. There may be a call within ourselves to balance any rejected energy by bringing the shadow part into the light of our divine nature, trusting the light to heal and uplift our entire nature and restoring wholeness to our being.
The seventh type of dream has been touched upon–those recurring dreams. Give them your attention and contemplative thought. What does the dream want you to receive by replaying it for you. There is a message in the repetitive dream and an opportunity to restore completely.
Eight–Lucid dreams are the ones we are nearly awake while dreaming. We know we are dreaming. It is the dream type we often change or make up the outcome or the ending. Nine–Prophetic or psychic dreams can be the ones where relatives, authority figures, a wise person gives us a message and shares important information or supplies divine direction. The example I gave of the Unity minister warning me of the forthcoming stock market fall was a prophetic dream. There can be messengers, friends, relatives from the other side who come to us in dreams to bless us in certain ways with revelations or other needed information.
Ten–Nightmares. These dreams occur to help us in some way. Actually all our dreams have this purpose. If we are unsure of the good, we can ask to be shown the greater blessing within the dream or symbolic message. As with each dream, we take note of the tone, intensity, our feelings associated with the dreaming episode and scene, any persons, characters, animals and other pertinent contents. If the dream contains someone or something dying or abusive seek to remember the significant details and what our reaction and feelings were and are. Of course, the sooner we write down or begin observing our dreams or visions the more information we usually recall. Seek inner guidance for questions and clarity with dreams before looking to the outer for help and analysis.
