Are you Doing What You Love to Do? If Not, Why?
My husband and I enjoy going out for breakfast or lunch. Many times Millennials wait on us. They are mostly young adults born between 1980 and 2000, finding their way and choosing what kind of career they want and how they can contribute to society in meaningful ways. Most of them who begin a conversation with us about jobs and education do not know which way to go. Some do and they are waiting for the right time to start.
The statement — ‘the right time to begin’ has baffled me. I am of the belief the right time is now to purposely move forward in some way (even in a small way) toward doing what makes great use of our special gifts, talents, shining qualities and moves us in the direction of doing what we love to do, while being compensated well.
Each person reading this message, no doubt realizes earning an income to provide money for living expenses and daily provision is a necessity. Certainly this is true. Sometimes though we are miserable at the jobs we are in and desire something else.
It sometimes takes a period of years before we achieve the desire of working in an area, doing what we love. Then, We may be able to say for the first time: “I love what I do.” I would do it whether I got paid for it or not. That usually is a sure test we greatly like what we are doing and how we are giving to the world around us. The work has the attributes of being meaningful and driven by a love for how we are giving and/or creating.
Whether or not we are loving our work, it is a positive thing to tell ourselves daily these truths:
I deserve success. I have greatness to give. I am about the business of giving from my heart’s desire while at the same time one with the Truest Energy and aliveness within me. I now distinctively and on purpose present my specialness to the world.
Additionally, I graciously receive in abundance and am provided for in tangible ways constantly and spontaneously, without hesitation or limitation. I am free and clear to express what is mine to be and do. I am loving what I do and joy flows from my heart. I draw easily and immediately to me the people, resources and connections, that support the satisfying and meaningful ways I creatively contribute and give. I am grateful, and so it is.
