During the Advent season 2014, I expand in the power of Faith. Faith is a quality of the Divinity within from God (Divine Spirit). I let Faith flourish in me by believing in Faith and being grateful for it. The inner activity of the Divine quality of Faith has moved through me in some scary and seemingly hopeless situations, bringing forth triumph and grace-filled outcomes.

The spiritual quality of Faith grows more endearing in me. Faith has also continued to grow and mature in my heart then out-picture in my life. Though, that is the way of Faith. I think of how the faith faculty blossomed in the disciple Peter when he recognized Jesus as the Christ. (The meaning of Christ here is: The inner Divine Light of God, our Divine Spirit indwelling). Peter’s own Faith had expanded to the point where he could see the Divine glowing Spirit of God in Jesus, which meant Peter had a recognition of his own internal divine light. He would not have seen Jesus’ spiritual presence within unless he had come to realize his inner Christ Light.

In another instance, the protective power of the beloved Prayer for Protection has grown in me through my increased Faith in the Divine power and absolute reality of “the power of God (to) protect me” and others I pray for.

Also, two Bible verses help strengthen our belief in the power and presence of Faith within and in our life: “Things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3). “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). The Apostle Paul’s grasp on Faith is evident.

We can exercise the Divine quality of Faith this holiday season by realizing that what we invest our Faith in tends to manifest. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for…” It is more than mere hope. Our Faith has forming power—it draws from the invisible and forms into visibility. Let’s say we believe in the James Dillet Freeman Poem, the “Prayer for Protection” with all our heart. Or, we believe with certainty and feeling that we will be guided throughout the day. Our Faith will manifest through us and in our life as protection and divine guidance. As we pray and believe in our divine power of Faith it increases in our heart and in our life. Our Faith that we are inseparable from Divine goodness becomes believable to us and the greater good manifests in us, through us and around us.

Chart your growing Faith from when you were a child to now. Or look at a Bible figure and chart their expanding Faith. The Apostle Paul had a dramatic increase in Faith in Jesus Christ and his teachings on the road to Damascus.

Our Faith is increasing every day. Each affirmation, each prayer, each time we open within to our Divine Spirit with trust, each moment we feel God’s inner peace and love and see it manifest around us—we grow in our power of Faith.

Here are two quotes from the Advent 2014 Booklet by Unity School: “My faith in God’s power is greater than any fear or doubt. When I am uncertain, I quiet my thoughts, knowing the still, small voice within will direct me.”

“God’s desire for (us) is only good. In faith (we) move confidently in the direction of (our already earned) good.” Amen
