“We are Not our Troubles…We are What is Aware of Them” –William Cooper
In the quoted title of this truth message, William Cooper puts life in creative order. It is our awareness which is what makes us alive with life in all its depth and dimension. For one thing, a baby is not aware of trouble; and she learns about such things through the capacities of intelligence, feelings, experience, senses, physical and emotional needs, innate knowing, and love and attention.
We sometimes get the ways of our conscious awareness as a Being experiencing life backwards, thinking it is our experiences, problems, people or perhaps things, that are important, that unfold life. Not discounting these and other various modes of life; however, knowing what is center and the initial cause of even comprehending and relating to these modes of life.
Likewise, it is similar to the ancient question of ‘who and what are we?’ Are we our labels, our roles, our female or male nature, our occupation, our humanness, our divinity, our challenges — Who are we before any of these are identified and understood in us?
We are a vital and enlightened light filled awareness coming through our individual consciousness. We are at our essence, of course, the invisible word or logos — our God nature at our core. We are sheer awareness and have the innate dynamic to become Buddha like, Mary Magdalene like, a servant or healer to many, or a transformer of souls through common work. Our level of awareness is as expansive as the universe and is without limits. This is well to remember next time we look at a baby or next time we glance at ourselves in the mirror.
Therefore we are more than ‘what’ we are. It is the awareness of who we are, making any troubles secondary and awareness the center of power seeing the troubles as an avenue for greater self-discovery, clearer awareness, and expansive unfoldment and expression of our innate God nature.
Furthermore, awareness of this certainly can make troubles shrink in importance and size. And realizing at the start, things are not as they appear to be and solving our problems are what expands us and stirs our full capabilities to awaken and lighten life’s journey.
