Truth Message–Part 2, “Only Connect;” Association Enriches

Laurie Beth Jones in Jesus in Blue Jeans suggests we do a walk-about occasionally to connect with others. By walking in our neighborhoods, we meet neighbors not seen yet or seldom talk to. We exchange whatever our inner creature comforts need.

For one, it is nice to know our neighbors for general health and well-being. Plus, for another reason, in case of emergency. They are not strangers. They openly and normally are receptive to help another neighbor. The gifts that come with connecting with each other are vast. Hence, we encourage ourselves to meet our neighbors. In so doing, we realize rich friendships and exchange ideas and more……

Another insight–when my husband and I vacationed in Hawaii in celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary we had time open up the day of travel homeward. Transportation was delayed long enough to open a 4 hour window for the two of us to get to know our surroundings and the Hawaiians better.

We did a walk-about. We met wonderful people with fascinating stories and interests. As a consequence I received something the beautiful scenery, water or tours would not have given–to connect on a personal level with a native Hawaiian and hear their story and feel their emotions. It felt complete. I was ready for the trip home.

Life gives us serendipitous opportunities regularly. Our job is to be receptive on a routine basis to greet these moments with a heart ready to receive and give what truly fulfills–feeling one with another and experiencing life in its most blessed form through connection.

Declaration–The universe provides me with open doors and a willing heart to get to know others at a deeper level with compassion and love. Simultaneously, I unify with my inner being of unconditional love and generous acceptance of self and all others.
