Combining the Old with the New Festive Decorations and Traditions
Mixing the not so New Christmas Traditions with Newer Ones.” I visited a friend’s home yesterday elaborately decorated with Christmas items from gingerbread figures and little houses to miniature Christmas scenes made up of tiny homes, people, trees, greenery, candy canes, bright colored bows and Christmas figurines. She had lots of decorative lighting, homemade Christmas wreaths inside her home and out.
I was struck by how my friend combined the old with the new festive decorations. It is true for our Christmas season, how we can include both our not so new traditions and decorations with brand new traditions and holiday displays. Each year it is expanding to start a new Christmas tradition. Sometimes with family schedules it is the best thing to be, flexible and willing to add and change set holiday get-togethers and traditions.
Mixing the old festivities and holiday traditions with the new keep the holidays fresh and the spirit alive in us and for our friends and families. Each of the Christmas story characters stand out for their willingness to change their course, be one with the new and hear and follow the intuitive and wise messages of guidance from within and in the outer they received. We are wise and happier when we do.
In Affirmative thought and feeling I declare to be open and flexible, nimble and willing to harmonize with individual family (and friends) schedules and wishes. To communicate with love and hear deeply what family and friends say and need. I also ask for support, hugs, and help from others during this time of extra outings, things to do, and people to connect with.
I ask, knowing I am receiving divine love and appreciation for each holiday event and gathering; and for the Christmas Spirit to flow in and through me as the unique Spiritual expression of joy, wholeness, peace, attractiveness and wisdom I am.
