There is an inner urge, I believe, in each of us to seek and find a transformative stream of consciousness that runs through us, our words, feelings, and yearnings to unite with a transformative power.

The first human beings on earth were gatherers, hunters, potters and farmers. They were akin and depended upon mother earth, the weather, and nature herself. They looked up to the sky and asked for rain, sunshine, fertile soil, plants and reproduction of people and crops.

They depended upon nature and where most vulnerable to her whims. They began to worship God and offer gifts to nature in exchange for food, good weather, harvest and fertility.

The demands and natural worships to the seeming powers much bigger than themselves evolved over the eons of time to where we are today. Of course, depending upon the setting, family and religion we were raised in and influenced by.

Today prayer is changing, to match our busy, relaxed and freedom loving society we live in. We encounter fast paced changes daily, uncertainties, quick shifts and ups and downs in jobs, family and political climates. Life is changeful. Prayer then must offer us changelessness.

I believe it does. The paradox again we are faced with. Letting that be, prayerful ability and desire is within us. We want to unite to something stabilizing, peaceful and hope-filled.

Pray how you will and wherever you are. In whatever form it takes; contemplative, silent, musical, voicing within or audible, observing beauty, being in awe of nature, a sunset, sunrise, rain falling or a newborn baby.

Engage in rejoicing, feeling and in being one with the higher realm of ourselves. Feel God, beauty, love, serenity, comfort and the life essence pouring through you as you pray, meditate, be still in whatever form works best for you at the time and for your specific need.

The divine responds to our sincerity, true feelings and calling within ourselves to be one with the transformative, holy part and allness of our being.
