God’s Unconditional Loving Presence

There was an immediate need for a good running automobile. We recently moved to Texas and my husband had not found permanent employment yet. I had taken a temporary assignment, working as an executive assistant in Downtown Houston. The Temp assignment was about 45 miles one way from home. I reiterated to myself and my husband—there was a necessity for me to have a good running car. We needed two vehicles if both of us would be gainfully employed. With no second car in sight in our meager budget, I got to work by being creative and asking neighbors for help in getting to and from work.

Unity Churches were sparse in Northwest Montgomery County in the vicinity where we lived. However, when a Unity Group existed I attended while supplementing my spiritual learning with literature from and classes at Unity World Headquarters, Unity Village, Mo. I learned of the Unconditional Love of God. There seemed nothing better than to feel and express divine unrestricted love. Non-conditional Love became a healing quality for my life when I learned to come from the highest love within and apply it to myself, to family, and to the world of people. However, I knew to practice the untainted love even more in my life.

The need for a car continued. With the goal of asking for and visualizing in prayer owning a stable automobile, I prayed and pictured having an auto then ceased with words for a time in the stillness. While in the listening mode of prayer something happened. I felt Divine unconditional love. There no longer was any thought of a car or lack of anything. Being entirely loved, filled me to overflowing. The idea of lack dissolved in the atmosphere of God’s perfect love. Directly after the prayer time, I felt loved and cared for—assured I would be provided for. Within two weeks my husband gave me his new truck. He bought a used car. Divine love—absent of fuss or struggle–manifested even more than I had asked for.

The experience in the silence of prayer impressed me. Since that time when any need arises, I first pray and sit in the quietness, receptive to God’s presence of holy love and all-goodness. I am once again united with spiritual sufficiency, assured all my needs are met out of the pure love of God. The unconditional love of the Divine Spirit expressing through me continues to bless every facet and area of my life. The truth is we are each one with God as love.  Unconditional love is a spiritual mainstay already within every human being and available to bless and prosper.
