Intentions, commitments, goals, Resolutions–what we call the intentions we write on paper conveying our purposeful actions and envisioned projects are not as important as having a clear and resolute desire to act on these 2016 commitments.

Seneca wrote: “A gift consists not in what is done or given, but in the intention of the giver or doer.” Look at your intended actions for the new year as the gifts you give to yourself. You gift yourself and the people around you as these New Year commitments are fulfilled. And as Seneca stated and Rev. Lori Woodley recently shared–our attitude and vision we hold about our intentions are paramount especially when acting on these intended actions.

In other words, the more clarity we have about our intentions we write down the better. A clear intention of acting from Divine wisdom and unconditional love will be a powerful gift we give to self and others.

If it takes a couple to a few days before those intentions get on paper, that’s fine.  Consult with your intuition and your heart then write out your intended actions and commitments for January and for the year of 2016. These are joyous actions we will be taking to gift ourselves and bless life around us in positive ways.

I Prayerfully Assert–I will make my New Year intentions in joy. I will enjoy writing them down and accomplishing them. Each step, preparation and action is done in thankfulness for the energy and desire in my heart to do them. Each intention is a gift I give to the creative process within me, to myself and to others. Thank you Divine Spirit for the grace, aliveness, and motivation to commit and fulfill these New Year Commitments. Amen
