Our Inner Sanctuary
Karen Marie Garrett’s “The Allure of Sanctuary” puts me in a spiritual place. We have an inner sanctuary here within us. It was there when we were forming in our mother’s womb. We are a sanctuary of holiness.
In your spiritual thoughts and moments go apart and be in the ‘inner sanctuary’ of your mind, of your being. When we pray and reach within to God, Spirit, that transcendent nature in us, we go to our–as the Hebrews called it–‘Holy of Holies,’ built inside us waiting to welcome us home.
When you have the inclination, the pull of your Spirit, it is calling you to be with and go within in the ‘sacred place,’ set apart and peace-filled. The inner light of our being knows the way.
I quiet with words and rest in the ‘holy worship’ place indwelling. I sit in my ‘private room’ inside and ask for strength and whatever divine Spirit knows to provide.
I recall during the day, my ‘inner sanctuary’ is a choice, a letting go, only a thought away. I return and revitalize, living in the power and holiness of the inner sacred space of my being. In the fullness of gratitude, Amen.
In Prayer of the Day there is a corresponding Truth Message titled “Inner Protected Sanctuary.”
