“Positivity”
We may wonder why positivity is important as a primary way of being and living. We heal faster when we are upbeat and have an agreeable doctor or person who believes we will heal and stay healthy. What can we do if we do not live up to the expression and attitude of positivity?
There is a ratio of three positives to offset one negativity in relationships, in our thinking, doing and general living—a three to one ratio of positive to every negative. These ideas have helped me to climb into positivity when I have back-pedaled.
1) Become still as one can, breathe. 2) Smile eases us up and relaxes our body and mind, smile. 3) Visualize or recall a positive happening—feel the goodness from someone telling you they love you or who recently gave you a compliment or gift. 4) If possible, go outside to a park or area in nature, an uplifting place of beauty. Or visualize and feel as though you are in a loving environment. Think and feel God’s presence as the beat of your heart; feel the Divine loving you.
5) Take responsibility. I have power over my mind and feelings. I can change my thoughts and guide feelings into a peaceful, happier state of inner being. 6) I am an overcomer and have transforming power at my command. Victim thoughts have no place in me. 7) Help someone. Buy groceries, donate to a local food pantry. 8) Sing, begin to sing a happy tune or say a sacred and favored verse, thought or word.
9) Be grateful now for at least three things. Alternative to being thankful—begin to laugh at three laughable things. 10) Quotes filled with positivity are lifting to our spirits. Read some uplifting Bible verses or inspiring quotes or stories. Decide to be and live happier regardless of any negativity.
Furthermore, we can honor negativity and sadness, yet not let it sink us into a negative state. There is even positive in negativity. Sometimes when we feel down, we open up and discover inner strengths, inner concerns or beliefs that do not belong to us anymore. We love and bless ourselves in any state of being and know we are one with an overcoming power and transformative love, Amen.
