Can you imagine living in a world where you did everything perfect? All of your interactions with other people and in varied life experiences went smooth and peaceful. Yet it is interesting how the master teachers, gurus, and other spiritually advanced souls did not do everything perfect or stir up controversy at times; even though these souls contributed greatly to humankind.

Surely, guilty feelings, having remorse or regret about something we said, did, or wish we would have done differently, go with the experience of living, contributing to life and expressing ourselves. We are evolving souls acquiring more knowledge, wisdom and spiritual insight every day. When we respond to guilt with curiosity and with an attitude of turning the regret into something worthwhile, we gain and grow.

Next time we feel guilty feelings we can be grateful for the feedback and what the guilt wants to relate. Perhaps our inner light/wisdom want to reveal something meaningful. “Oh, I am more eloquent than that. I needed to step back and move forward more prepared or wakeful.”

Further, what can I do now and how will I positively support myself moving forward from here? Besides how can I turn this into a lasting blessing? We can take advantage of the inner message and see ourselves and whomever or whatever in healed and holy light.

When Jesus washed the feet of the disciples as depicted by the gospel writers, he was doing more than being a servant and washing any dirt off their feet. He wanted to cleanse his followers’ attitude, open their understanding capacity, creating the atmosphere to begin anew and see things in a  clearer light.

Additionally, holding onto remorse or guilt is not making room for our intelligence to bring forth insightful knowledge and relief from guilty feelings. We want to replace any downcast images of mistaken judgments with uplifting images of honor, respect and compassion for our growing self. In other words supporting ourselves in the middle of any short-comings or missing the mark. We are forever given new opportunities and clean slates through forgiveness of self and the circumstances and any people involved. To begin anew is something God given — a gift from the loving divine Spirit ever with and within us.

Next time guilt or similar feelings surface in us, we can recall the true intention for our life is not getting everything perfect. Our core intention is self-compassion and extending a compassionate heart to others as they live their life.  To quickly realize we are incarnated on earth plane to live, experience, evolve, let go, and go forward all the while with compassion, forgiveness and willingness to begin anew at any moment.

Therefore, we are to highly prize our wisdom of the heart and mind. Begin living our wisdom, giving our restorative and power-filled love to ourselves and others spontaneously and unreservedly. When we settle within, open and allow God’s presence to be known in our individual being, we feel new, fill with that energy we require to know there is so much more than negative stuff — there is pure light and diamond-like beauty within our heart and soul to know and feel, express and give out.
