Truth is Absolute and contains the Divine Radiant Essence; the Relative relates to Humanness, Materiality and what we can See.

Let’s take the affirmation: “The inexhaustible resource of Spirit is equal to every demand. There is no reality in lack. Abundance is here and now manifest.” The experience of lack, not enough money to pay bills might be a real experience at the human level of thinking and actual fact. Yet, the Truth affirmation here states the contrary. The truth statement is claiming an absolute Truth or the divine assertion and declaration based on absolute verities, laws and wisdom.

We face the dichotomy in everyday life. In Unity Seminary, my instructor Robert Brumet talked of the two–the absolute and the relative as living with double vision. The absolute based on Divine principles and knowing and the relative world of sight, appearances and materiality. Metaphysicians and spiritual healers honor the problem or an appearance of abnormality. However they see through or beyond the material manifestation to the Truth of wholeness, perfect health, and unlimited prosperity and Divine good.

We can too. Each one of us is capable of living and expressing our wholeness and spiritual richness.

Prayer, affirmation, declarations of Truth as Jesus stated lift us from the world of affairs and human vision to the absolute realm of believing and knowing. An example of this is when we forgive ourselves or another we lift and let go, raise our sights on the divine ideas of forgiveness and unconditional love.

One afternoon I was traveling from the University of Houston to home on I-45, a busy traffic afternoon. I usually said and kept the feeling of the prayer for protection–that the light of God surrounds me; the love of God enfolds me; the power of God protects me; and the presence of God watches over me. Wherever I am God is and all is well. The prayer and feeling of divine protection drove with me that day. Then amongst the cars an automobile began to spin and get out of control in the right lane.

Next, what I experienced was a kind of slow motion coupled with a palpable sense that the other numerous cars with me on the road, very near the car spinning out of control, held it together. I could feel the steadiness of each driver including myself. We were in the zone of the absolute, holding the space of calmness and maintaining an undisturbed alert attitude and even tempered driving skill. The out of control car landed safely off the road well onto the shoulder portion of the highway, while the cars around the reckless car were unharmed and untouched by the unsettled driver.

It felt magical. However the power of transcendence came forth through each driver around me on I-45 that day. The divine, absolute power manifested around us in the world of form through our calm and steady demeanor. The absolute became our real experience of peace, protection, power, and wisdom.

We remember in our lives the more, the absoluteness to life. We recall and become one with the absolute goodness of God, the Divine Spirit that indwells us and is Omnipresence. We are inseparable from the truth of our Being. It manifests through the faith in our prayers and affirmations. The Divine nature manifests through our words–God help me, guide me, prosper and heal me. Ours is to see through to the Truth in the infinite and certain absoluteness of the Divine manifesting in us and in the world.

I rise in consciousness and let go of appearances, contrary beliefs, and lack of any kind. I see with spiritual Truth to the divine reality of things.
