“VIP You; make time for yourself”
“Make Time for Yourself.” Remember when you were in grade school and sometimes you felt the wonderful feeling self-pride and felt great about yourself. Perhaps another student got jealous and said something nasty to you.
I remember it was not necessarily encouraged. Times have changed and we are coached to think well of ourselves, our value and self worth. We are to respect our inner gifts and talents. Not with conceit, with gratitude.
Furthermore, We are then to be brave and give and give of our special skills, attributes and talents. Psychologists and counselors encourage us to feel good about ourselves, to believe we deserve and to appreciate who we are. Spirituality teaches us to not only love unconditionally and think well of others, but to also love and respect ourselves without conditions.
A new month is beginning and soon it will be springtime. Set time aside to pamper yourself. Do healthy things you’ve been holding off on. I want to get a massage and go to the Chiropractor. I must tell myself I have the time. I vow to with the onset of the new month.
One time soon after we moved from New Jersey to Texas (a big move), I wanted to treat myself to a good hairstylist. I found a good hair salon at the Galleria and went. It was pricier than Kingwood, Texas would have been. Yet I got a fine hair cut and style. I felt rich and renewed inside.
In NJ we lived one hour from New York City. And once in a while I would treat myself and go to a New York City beauty salon. They were always great and unique. One hairdresser dried my hair with her hands. It came out beautiful. Too, I felt like my head was massaged at the same time.
I encourage you to do something special for yourself. Take the advice from a quote by Amy Lppeliti: “Carve out and claim the time to care for yourself and kindle your own fire.”
