“Golden Key.”  The main idea in the Emmet Fox Booklet is: “Stop thinking about the difficulty, whatever it is, and think about God instead.” —Unity. The first publication of “The Golden Key” may have been as early as January 6, 1931.

However the idea of focus and centering upon God as the answer to life’s dilemmas has been taught by the early teachers of New Thought since the beginning days of the Movement, that became known as the New Thought teachings.

Moreover, the basic Truth tenet continues to be taught in present day . The Truth tenet is ‘a consciousness of God is the answer’ to health, money, relationship, discords, and lack or limitation of any kind.

The practice is concise and simple. Not easy nonetheless when our conscious mind, thinking it has the answers, does not let go easily. It has to be coaxed and guided to our higher realm, our innate spiritual nature.

Why let go and let God be known in us we might ask? For the reason at our human level of understanding we have all thoughts, the good, nasty and untruths with some common sense and a degree of Truth mixed in.

On the other hand, when we allow ourselves to be lifted by affirmation, through prayer and the stillness, deeper breathing or by thinking and acting on  divine thoughts and ideas, we relinquish the human ego and open to clear spiritual verities. We feel liberated and free with clarity of thoughts and actions.

When we think upon God and begin to feel our oneness with the presence of the Divine, we receive insights and ideas that heal. We are also given new energy.

Certainly as we dwell in the higher and attuned areas of our nature our human experience begins to transform and out-picture as peacefulness, well-being, increased creativity, joy and lightness.

With any concern or difficulty try the “Golden Key” idea. Succinctly stated, we are first spiritual beings. Now we let go and let our inner Source of Spiritual Wisdom and transformative power enliven our humanness, filling with ease, relief, divine solutions and grace.
