“Love Works”
We humans look for ways to make work easier and happier. Some things we do in life are lighter than others. Take income tax. Each year my husband tells me, filling out the annual tax form gets more complicated.
When we bring love coupled with thankfulness into our jobs and tasks, we find things ease and solutions arise in performing the work. Kahlil Gibran stated “Work is love made visible.” A positive way to feel about work.
And something more, when we begin feeling love and happiness in what we are doing, the effort needed to do the job becomes lighter, requiring less energy and frustration.
When hubby does the taxes, I fill with gratitude he is brave and intelligent enough to take the assignment on and complete the yearly task. When we keep on until we are done, the reward is high. We feel good and the item can be released from our mind and any to-do list.
The quality of love inside us is an energy that lightens any heaviness and propels things forward. The project flows and creativity arises and improves our attitude and time it takes to complete the job.
Bringing love into our efforts ushers in graces upon graces. If there are tasks and goals in front of us waiting to get going on activate the flow of love in our thoughts and activities. We will feel happier and our brain capacity free to rise to the occasion which adds to the joy and shortens the time to reach the point of completion.
When I began gathering research and ideas for term papers while in Seminary, every time I went by my accumulating pile of notes and list of requirements or thought about the assigned paper, I would feel love.
Sometimes I would lovingly touch the pile as I walked past it. I brought the energy and power of love into the job. Then it became easier to find time to do the homework and accomplish the term paper. The task and elements involved in finalizing the term paper flowed better. Ease replaced stress over finishing the work on time.
In prayerful moments now, we stir up love within us and let it pour into projects waiting and wanting to be done by us. We breathe and with each breath call on divine love to fill our thoughts and minds with the vitality of love. We lavishly pour love into the task as we do what it takes to get the items done. Anytime we think of the work before us, we can feel love toward it.
As we prepare and perform the project let love flow in and through the work. Be grateful for the loving energy blessing and uplifting the job. Love invigorates all we are and do, heightening our performance and ushering in the effort needed.
We make a habit of letting love be activated and flow in us in what we think upon and do. Thank you creative and loving energy, the power within, readily responsive to the activation of love’s presence in and through us and in everything we do, Amen.
