Have you from time to time heard your name called for no obvious reason and from seemingly out their in the air?  The Divine Presence calls us. And it can feel as if it comes from within or somewhere in the outer. Virginia Ann Froehle in Loving Yourself More gives us this prayerful exercise. I have written the prayer in meditative and contemporary New Thought form.

“I will go before you, ____________ leveling the mountains, I will shatter the doors of bronze and snap the bars of iron. I will give you___________ the treasures stored in darkness and riches hidden in secret places. –Isaiah 45: 2, 3.

The Divine Spirit (God) desires for us to know that Divine Power causes breakthroughs in our life journeys. God, the Divine presence and power desires that we recognize these breakthroughs as acts of love given us as individuals. God calls each of us by name.

By what name or names does the Divine Presence call you? Your baptismal name? Your nickname? A descriptive name such as “Beloved” or “Precious One” or “Wise One,” “Daughter,” “Son” or “I Am”?

Pause in the Stillness open to hear the name Divinity calls you……

Reread Isaiah 45: 2–3 aloud and place one of the names God calls you in the first blank space and in the second blank space. Do this again for each name God calls you.

Hear Divine Spirit say your name or names frequently throughout the day.

Remember you are God’s Beloved. You may use as a mantra anytime: I have called you by name, ____________, placing the name God calls you in the blank space.

Closing affirmation–I am growing in intimacy and closeness with the Divine. And so it is, Amen.
