“Never Limit your View of Life by any Past Experience.” —Ernest Holmes. Charles Fillmore in the book Keep a True Lent says the Lenten period has “a sound spiritual basis.” Moses, Elijah and Jesus each had a duration of time for fasting and praying. Each, received revelations from their spiritual hiatus.

We can take their lead and have spiritual pauses and times of saturating ourselves in the goodness of divine light. During the 40 day time-frame, the opportunity is offered to retreat and renew, confirming our innate and omnipresent spiritual power and oneness.

For the same reason, Ernest Holmes offers us — in the opening quote of this message– timeless words to clear our mind, consciousness and feeling nature of restricting beliefs, images and ideas we may hold because of past experiences, memories and history. We can drop the burden of uncomfortable, detracting events, words, voices or thoughts in our head and heart.

Besides, you and I along with everyone else has a divine right and the inherent power to drop, let go of limitation and replenish ourselves in what is true: “by contrast, the fruit of Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.” —Galatians 5: 22–26 (NRSV).

To reiterate, we have the human authority and spiritual God-given approval to take control of our thinking, being, expression, time, communication and life! Choose to let Galatians 5 be a guiding beacon to spiritual enlightening and revitalization for you, me, our neighbor and our life and living.
